Patience is a virtue when dealing with aging parents

The (Montreal) Gazette reports that Dr. Michael Gordon recently gave the inaugural Goldie Raymer Memorial Lecture in the Jewish General Hospital's division of geriatric medicine. His talk emphasized the importance of using patience with aging parents.

That close to 300 people filled a hospital amphitheatre for a lecture called Parenting Your Parents is a pretty good indication that many adult children are looking for help in helping their aging parents. 

They'd come to listen to Dr. Michael Gordon, a distinguished geriatric medical specialist who had had travelled from Toronto to give the inaugural Goldie Raymer Memorial Lecture in the Jewish General Hospital's division of geriatric medicine. 

In person, Gordon comes across as kind and empathetic. His advice, dispensed in a conversational and plainspoken manner, is practical and sage.
